No BS Business School

I’m Jan – business educator, revenue coach and the Host of No BS Business School.
I help industry experts uncover the blind spots in their business and lean into their unique gifts, so they can take intentional action to scale their online revenue.

My podcast is my love letter to the gusty, unapologetically talented female entrepreneurs who listen, to help them stay inspired and keep moving in the right direction as they grow the online side of their business.
It’s also where I share everything I’ve learned about turning a 20+ real world career into a 6-figure online business, and how the women who listen to my show can do the same.
I turned the art of buying someone a $5 cup of coffee into a $20 million career. I had a 20+ year career as an award-winning business operations strategist and professional fundraiser.
When I decided to follow my dream of being my own boss, I struggled to grow my online business following the generic advice that seems to dominate this market.
So, I went back to using the tactics that I know so well from the real world and transferred them into the digital space, and my business took off online!
Now, I share that knowledge with other experts to help them scale up their online presence, in a way that’s tailored to their specific needs, rather than following generic trends or advice.
And let me tell you, if you’ve been a subject matter expert in the real world, you have a massive advantage when it comes to the online game. Unfortunately, that edge isn’t being shared enough, so I’m here to help!
Everything I teach on my podcast and to my clients, is based on my real-life experience of being responsible for over $20 million in revenue in my career and working with every level of expert from Grassroots, to Parliament Hill, to Hollywood.

My audience are real world industry experts who are trying to navigate the online business world without losing their money or their mind in the process.
The women who listen to my show are driven to create wealth and legacy from their unique gifts and are looking for the fluff-free strategies and action steps to make that happen.
I have a deep respect for my listeners and know how incredibly talented they are in their specific niche. My goal on the show is to be able to help them scale the online side of their business in a way that’s tailored to their unique needs, instead of just following generic trends or advice.
I think what keeps them coming back is that they know I’ll always tell it like it is, and that I already know they’re an expert. They deserve to learn from someone who is as well.
No BS Business School releases 3 episodes a week that focus on helping real world business owners and subject matter experts navigate the world of online marketing and digital sales….without losing their money or their mind in the process!
On my show, you’ll 2 short episodes a week filled with direct, concrete, actionable step-by-step tips on how to build the online side of your business, sell your programs or services more effectively and market yourself online authentically.
Plus, I’m also joined once a week by a special guest who is doing big things in business, talking about the ups and downs of life as an entrepreneur.
Think of my podcast as your trend-free cocktail hour convo with a good friend who understands the depth of your expertise and knows exactly how to translate that into a profitable online business without the BS. 🙂
What does it really take to build a charity that lasts—and how can entrepreneurs integrate meaningful impact into their business model without waiting until they “make it”?
In this episode, I’m joined by Amy McLaren, founder of Village Impact, author of Passion to Purpose, and one of the most admired voices in the purpose-driven business space. Amy has helped bring education to thousands of children in rural Kenya through Village Impact’s smart, sustainable model—while also raising a family, running multiple businesses, and empowering women through her adventure mastermind, LadyStrength.
As someone who spent nearly two decades building and funding nonprofit organizations myself, I couldn’t be more excited to bring you this conversation. Amy is the real deal. And in a world full of surface-level “giving back,” what she’s built is the blueprint for doing good that actually works.
We’re talking about:
- How Village Impact grew from a bold idea into a thriving, global nonprofit
- The truth about what it takes to run a successful charity behind the scenes
- How Amy structured a brilliant funding model that doesn’t rely on grants
- Why philanthropy should be part of every business strategy—not just a feel-good extra
- What legacy really means when you’re building something that outlives you
Whether you’re a business owner who dreams of starting a nonprofit, someone looking to make giving back part of your brand, or a purpose-led entrepreneur figuring out how to lead with more impact—this conversation will inspire you to think bigger and act bolder.
Hit play and learn what it means to create lasting change—without compromising your mission or your business.
