People who listen to the podcast want to learn about people impacting Southern California and gain inspiration from them on how to live their best life.

The impact of the pandemic and the police killing of George Floyd motivated me to start my podcast. Like many people, I felt isolated, concerned, frustrated and angry during this period. I wanted to do something to work through my feelings in a meaningful and constructive way. I wanted to get back to the love and connection I felt for my home, Southern California, and the people here who inspire positive action, improve lives, and enhance communities. I knew I could have a positive impact highlighting the people and places that make SoCal special, so I reached back to my journalism roots and started SoCal Voices.

SoCal Voices listeners are smart, curious people, interested in hearing about a range of topics from smart, insightful guests. They come back for meaningful, substantive discussions where they receive real nuggets of information that help them live better and create better communities.

SoCal Voices is unique because it focuses on people who make the region special. Some of the guests are well known in their chosen niche, others are not well-known, but are doing dynamic work improving lives. SoCal Voices discusses news, politics, culture, art, food, business with guests impacting the lives of Southern Californians and beyond.
