Speaking and Communicating Podcast
A 15-year career in engineering made me realize that it’s not the smartest who get promoted, but the ones who speak up more.
Most of our listeners are brilliant professionals who need to overcome the soft skills hurdle.
I worked with a company that bid for government contracts. There comes a time when the client no longer asks for bids, but specifically ask my superiors to work on future projects with them. This was due to my superior’s relationship-building and speaking skills, since everyone else knew the technical. Constantly improving my interpersonal skills has not only helped me advance professionally, but it has also strengthened my personal relationships as well. Knowing how to resolve conflict, clearly communicate your point of view without malice and listening with intent when others share their experiences – sets you apart from the rest of the pack. These are lessons I continue to learn and share with podcast audiences.
Our podcast audience are brilliant professionals who were told that acing their university or college exams will make them easily climb the corporate ladder. Hardly anyone mentioned the missing link for them – soft skills!
There is a difference between you knowing what you know about your expertise and how others perceive how much you know. If you do not have the tools to communicate clearly how much you know, the perception is that you are not an expert at that level.
Therefore, our audiences are here to learn these soft skills and relationship-building techniques for long-term professional success, sales success and even entrepreneurship success.
What sets our podcast apart is the conversation-style, rather than the Q&A style when a guest is sharing their expertise and helpful tips for our listeners. We focus on soft skills because so many have been unable to secure their dream jobs, despite acing their college exams, due to not being able to communicate and sell themselves.
Those who have already entered the professional arena, may sometimes be frustrated and wonder why they are not promoted when they do excellent work.
If promoted due to excellence in subject matter expertise, they find it very challenging to manage teams and projects. Soft skills can never be emphasized enough on how crucial a role they play in accelerating anyone’s career.
Organizations who focus on soft skills are estimated to perform 47% better than those who do not. Therefore, we mainly focus on public speaking, business presentation skills, communication skills, soft skills, leadership coaching and overall self-improvement.
Working on improving these skills grows you as a person – both professionally and personally.
