Whether you’re a professional preparing for a high-stakes presentation, a student navigating a public speaking class, or someone simply looking to enhance their interpersonal skills, this podcast has the tools to empower you, all with a bit of humor. I am a recovering college professor who the first time I had to speak in front of a class as a student, I threw up. I had to figure out on my own how to get over the nerves and anxiety. So when I became a college professor I knew I would need to help my students become good communicators and that is where the journey started. The audience is primarily 25-40-year-olds who want to improve their communication skills.

As a college professor, I would tell my students to stop using filler words all of the time. Then, one day a really good student came to me and said, “You keep telling us to stop using filler words, but you are not telling us how!” At that point, it hit me that I have to be better and develop a framework that can be used in any situation that would help them become powerful communicators.

Honestly, I am not sure other than what the reviews say. I prepare and do in depth research on all of my quests, I use humor, and try to make sure that there are practical tips/takeaways that the audience can use right away.

The podcast is unique because I infuse the foundation that relationships and the connections that we make are the most important thing when communicating. I use humor and mention some aspect of family in every episode, but I also reiterate that improving communication skills requires work and practice and it is a life-long process.
