by Robert A. Crutchfield
I as the host am the author of over 50 recipes, videos, podcasts, and articles on cooking and other food related subjects. I am a member of the Podcast Academy so as you might expect I not only take food seriously, but podcasting as well. Also I have always been a modern day renaissance man. My interests are wide ranging, so you never know where I will pull something in from !
Share an experience that has shaped who you are today.
My mother was my first cooking teacher. She had the opportunity to learn from her mother, a better than fair farm cook. She also had the chance to learn from her father-in-law, my grandfather, who was a well known chef in places like Houston, and New Orleans. From the earliest lessons she taught me she nearly always ended by asking, "Now how do you make it your own ? " This gave me a spirit of experimentation when it comes to food. I also inherited her sense of uber curiosity about a wide range of things.
Tell us about your podcast audience.
Our audience is very much like our guest pool. Home cooks are very much welcome. We also have professional chefs, food company founders, authors, pretty much anybody with an interest in food. Our motto is " Learn More Eat Better. " We interpret better very widely. By better we mean better tasting food, more exciting more enjoyable food experiences, and of course food that is just plain better for you. Of course that's just the start, we don't stop there !
What makes your podcast unique?
I'm fond of saying, " Nothing food related is off the table on this podcast !" We cover everything from cooking to nutrition, to creating, making and marketing food products. New products/trends are fair game like anything else food related. This is all backed up by our incredible guests, who come from every corner of the food world.
