I was a professional Firefighter/EMT for 10 years. Having been laid off and hired back multiple times, I quickly lost all faith in a career that was supposed to offer long-term security. After my second round of being an unemployed firefighter, I went hard into entrepreneur work. I did everything you could think of. I sold vacuums door-to-door for a hot minute. I sold life insurance over the phone. I got into fix-and-flip real estate. I took every online course I could think of from many of the biggest names and course gurus out there. We lived with my in-laws for a short period of time when money was exceptionally tight. But I never gave up. I always kept striving and working. Two years later, I was back in the fire service again. This time, however, I was looking long term. Firefighters don't typically live long after retirement, and my idea of security had long since shattered. So I took all the learning and experience I had acquired and started my own digital marketing agency as a side business. Fast forward 6 years, Corona has happened. I contracted the Vid-19, and was fine. I was down for a month, but never in any danger. Then the vaccine mandate came through and I was told that I had to get it or I would have to leave. I decided that it wasn't right to force something on me that wasn't going to increase my quality of life (I already had natural immunity) and was already proven that it didn't stop people from getting infected or spreading it. I'm not against at-risk populations (or anyone who wants it) from receiving it, I just didn't believe it was right to be forced on me. So I chose my principles over a steady paycheck and went full-time into marketing and coaching.
Tell us about your podcast audience.
My audience is predominantly female ages 35-59 (at least that's what Anchor tells me) I think the appeal is that these are real conversations and I ask the questions they would want to know in a conversation.
What makes your podcast unique?
My podcast is an interview of business owners and their story. We highlight what they do, what makes them special, and where they came from. Every episode is different (some might say...subject to change?) and is about a different business owner. I don't ask scripted questions, and follow the conversation organically. We go down any tangent that is fun, curious, or exciting.
