Hi, I’m Krystal – host of “The Proffitt Podcast.” And I’m happy to say you’ve come to the right place!
Business owners and content creators dream of building a platform where they can connect deeply with their audience, and marketing feels easy. But I also know what it’s like to feel confused and overwhelmed.
Join us weekly as we strip down those processes and remove all the overwhelm with new tips, simple strategies, and great conversations with creators like you. Tune in to hear how I help creators start, launch, and market their content confidently. The motto here is, “We all have to start somewhere.”
Stepping away from something you've built for over seven years isn't easy. After 500+ episodes and countless hours behind the microphone, I've made the difficult decision to take my first-ever break from this podcast for the remainder of 2025.
The journey of content creation has been incredibly rewarding, but also challenging in ways I hadn't anticipated when I started this adventure. Week after week, month after month, year after year—this community has grown alongside me, and I'm profoundly grateful for every single one of you who's tuned in, whether you discovered the show last week or have been here since day one. This pause isn't a goodbye; it's a necessary step back to reevaluate, recalibrate, and potentially reimagine what comes next.
While no new episodes will be released during this hiatus, our extensive library remains at your fingertips. With over 500 episodes of the Proffitt Podcast plus three years of daily content from the Poddy Report, there's plenty to explore if you're missing our regular conversations.
Our YouTube channel continues to offer resources for content creators wanting to level up their podcasts, videos, email marketing, and course creation. And of course, I'm still reachable via email and Instagram—this community connection remains important to me even as I step away from the microphone.
Will I return in January with renewed energy or perhaps something entirely different? That remains to be seen. For now, remember what we've always said: keep it up—we all have to start somewhere. And sometimes, that includes knowing when to pause.

Imagine spinning gold from straw. That’s what “Frugalpreneur: Building a Business on a Bootstrapped Budget” feels akin to hosted by Sarah St John.
This podcast dives into the nitty-gritty of creating a fruitful venture with close to nothing. It’s an alchemy of innovation, resilience, and frugality, bringing forward some amazing guests who’ve transformed their ‘shoestring’ into ‘success’.
In this episode of the Frugalpreneur podcast, host Sarah St. John sits down with Corey Ganim, a self-made entrepreneur who shares his journey of bootstrapping an Amazon-based business from scratch. Corey recalls the pivotal moment that pushed him to pursue entrepreneurship full-time: witnessing a senior manager at IBM frequently missing family time due to work commitments. Determined to avoid that fate, Corey ramped up his Amazon side hustle, which initially involved flipping used books found at thrift stores.
Starting with just a couple hundred dollars—$200 for equipment and $100 for inventory—Corey describes how he reinvested profits to gradually scale his business, reaching over $13 million in sales. He emphasizes the importance of resourcefulness and a frugal mindset, using free or low-cost tools like Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace to acquire inventory and even leveraging 0% APR credit cards to finance growth early on.
Corey opens up about his biggest mistake: underestimating how long true, sustainable scaling takes when bootstrapping, and making some hasty decisions as a result. On the flip side, he highlights the value of being disciplined about every expense, a habit that’s served him well even as the business grew.
To help others interested in the Amazon wholesale model he now follows (buying bulk products from manufacturers and reselling them on Amazon), Corey offers a free step-by-step online course at freewholesaleguide.com.
The episode is packed with practical advice and real-world insights for anyone starting or scaling a business on a tight budget.
