Unlocking the Potential of AI in Podcasting: The ChatGPT Cheat Sheet with Marc Ronick
One such AI tool that is making waves in the podcasting world is the ChatGPT, a computer program based on a type of artificial intelligence called “machine learning.” It is able to understand and respond to text in a way that makes it seem like you’re talking to a real person.
When Marc Ronick, the CEO of iRonick Media and a professional with over 16 years of experience, released his “ChatGPT Cheat Sheet for Podcasters” we noticed! In it, Ronick provides a list of prompts podcasters can use to generate ideas for their podcasts and unlock the full potential of AI to grow and monetize their shows.
In a recent interview, Marc emphasized the importance of asking quality questions when using ChatGPT to generate ideas for podcasts.
MARC RONICK: I think Mandy is spot on! It’s important to ask quality questions. Just like when you’re interviewing a guest on your podcast, if you ask a sub-par question, you’re likely to get a sub-par answer. Take the time to really think about what you want to know and how you want to phrase your question. By doing this, you’ll be able to get more valuable insights and information from ChatGPT.
POTESTIVO: What are ways podcasters can use ChatGPT to monetize their podcasts?
RONICK: Like most everything else we preach in podcasting, monetizing all starts with your target audience. ChatGPT can help you clearly identify your target audience and develop content and strategies that appeals to your target audience. As for how it can directly help a podcaster monetize, ChatGPT can help you write a pitch letter to a potential advertiser, create a media kit complete with suggested ad rates, provide an outreach strategy, write scripts for ad reads and more. I’ve even seen it provide podcasters and creators with the contact information of the advertisers & sponsors you’d want to connect with. It can help you create merchandise designs and ideas or help you create a full scale membership program or online course. The possibilities are truly endless and we’re continuing to discover new ways to use this technology.
POTESTIVO: What are ways we can use ChatGPT to help us get discovered?
RONICK: The most immediate way ChatGPT can help a podcast get discovered is to use it as a way to streamline the processes you normally implement to improve your discoverability. It can take one episode transcript and turn it into multiple forms of rich content such as helping you write episode titles & descriptions, blog posts, social media posts, and email newsletters to name a few. It can provide you with effective keywords & hashtags. It can provide suggestions and direction on your branding and marketing approaches. Heck, it can create an entire marketing strategy for you if you’re able to provide effective prompts!
POTESTIVO: How has ChatGPT effected your business strategy for 2023?
RONICK: I expect this technology to become more and more relevant in the podcasting space as 2023 continues, so I’m currently in the middle of figuring out how it’s going to affect my overall business strategy. The most immediate effect and impact it’s had on my business so far is that I’m adding a workshop and membership program that will show podcasters how they can incorporate this technology into their workflow to save them time and money. I could also see using this technology to help enhance my client’s onboarding process and automate other processes and tasks that could save me time and money.
POTESTIVO: You recently released the first version of your ultimate guide to ChatGPT. Why?
RONICK: The short answer, because of all the answers to my other questions! This technology is not only going to change the way we podcast, it’s going to potentially change the entire world around us. I think it’s important to start educating podcasters on it now so they not only can use it to their advantage but they can learn how to use it responsibly while maintaining their human, authentic style of podcasting.
